Welcome to the 2019 Queen Elizabeth Prize for Engineering (QEPrize) nominations site

The QEPrize is a global £1 million prize that celebrates a ground-breaking innovation in engineering and we are delighted that you have chosen to submit a nomination to highlight the innovator(s) who have contributed to a substantial, lasting change in the world.

Previous Winners have included internet pioneers Robert Kahn, Vinton Cerf, Louis Pouzin, Marc Andreesen and Tim Berners-Lee (2013), Robert Langer for controlled drug delivery (2015) and George Smith, Michael Tompsett, Nobukazu Teranishi and Eric Fossum for progressive contributions to digital imaging sensors (2017).

Entry to the Prize is open to any living individual (or up to five individuals) of any nationality who are personally responsible for a ground-breaking innovation in engineering which has been of benefit to humanity.

  • The closing date to submit your nomination(s) is 18 May 2018
  • The deadline for referees to submit supporting statements is 15 June 2018
  • The winner(s) of the 2019 QEPrize will be announced in February 2019 and further details will be released closer to the time
